A little bit about me & how my amigurumi journey began
Hello, my name is Alanna.
Welcome to my cozy little corner of the internet where I share my passion for crochet and all things amigurumi.
My journey with crochet:
I have a background in architecture and interior design, but in recent years, my journey took a whimsical turn when I stumbled across a pattern for the cutest little toy giraffe on Pinterest. Crochet was taught to me by my grandma and mum when I was a child, but granny squares and blankets really were the extent of my crochet repertoire. I honestly didn't know if I would be able to tackle something as complicated and intricate-looking as this little giraffe! Despite this, I became instantly fascinated with the art of amigurumi and began endlessly researching and practicing, watching YouTube tutorial after YouTube tutorial, fully immersing myself in the craft any chance I got. I could have sat there crocheting all day long, day after day! I found it unbelievably addictive! I was amazed at how quickly I was learning to turn my ball of yarn into the cutest little characters with just a single crochet stitch, a few clever shaping techniques and a bit of stuffing.
Theodore And Rose - new beginnings:
After months of learning this new craft, I started designing my own patterns, beginning with combining the humble granny square with this newfound technique of amigurumi, creating Hattie The Bonnie Bunny, the first in my collection of lovies. Sharing these patterns with fellow crochet and amigurumi enthusiasts felt like a natural progression, and so was born, Theodore and Rose.
